Movement: Each type of piece moves differently. For example, bishops move diagonally, rooks move in straight lines, and knights move in an āLā shape.
Turns: Players alternate turns, moving one piece at a time.
Check & Checkmate: When a king is threatened, it is in check. If it cannot escape, itās checkmate, and the game ends.
Special moves:
Castling: A move involving the king and a rook.
En passant: A special pawn capture.
Promotion: When a pawn reaches the other side, it can be promoted to another piece (usually a queen).
